Edit:
I forgot I found this video:
[link]Our Kyoshi Warrior costumes are mentioned at about 1:35 and you can see me in my Saber costume around 7:15.
So. Anime Central was interesting this year- a little bit of good and bad mixed together.
Friday went well.

, our friend, and I went as Ty Lee, Mai, and Azula disguised as Kyoshi Warriors. We, along as our friend

as Zuko did a photoshoot with

.

was suppose to be Sokka that day in the same outfits as us, but since he forgot his robe back at our place, he lent ~
YetAnotherCatgirl his armor beacuse hers was forgotten by our Mai. In the end it worked out. The boyfriend and I changed into our Fate/Stay Night costumes for part of the evening and then called it a night.
Saturday, we got into the Kyoshi costumes again (only I went as Suki instead of Azula this time) to enter the hall competition and for the Avatar photoshoot. Our Mai opted to wear a different costume, so ~
girls4me2 could borrow her robe and go as Sokka. Afterwards, we all changed into our Fate/Stay Night costumes afterwards along with ~
evilgamerkitty.
The Masquerade was were things got complicated. The good news is, I won one of the sewing machines from Arda for my craftsmanship of my Saber costume! Let me tell you, this machine is simply beautiful. Also, we won best screen accuracy in the hall competition for the Kyoshi Warriors!
The bad news is we never got to perform our skit. None of us with skits did actually. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the show, and everyone had to evacuate. On top of that, the Masq was already running behind due to a concert before it. They were able to finish up the walk-ons luckily, but the rest of us got cut out. I'm still a bit bummed out- our group had put a lot of time and energy in it, and I know that was the same for everyone else with skits too. I also felt really bad for the people running Masq since they devoted a lot of their time towards it, and it being canceled was out of their hands. They were really great people, and they were pretty crushed when they had to break the news to us.
My group and I might try our skit again next year or possibly at another convention. We received free badges for next year, so maybe our schedules will work out for it.
Overall, this was a strange first time competing at ACen. I am excited to put my new sewing machine to work on upcoming projects, though. I was going to give myself a bit of a break before starting anything, but I really want to play with my new toy.
